Arsenic and Your Playground

In the April 2004 issue of Parks and Recreation Magazine, the National Recreation and Park Association’s Senior Policy Associate, Richard Dolesh provides background information and examples of how various park and recreation departments have been dealing with arsenic-treated wood in our nation’s parks. Dolesh discusses what actions park managers can take following a call for the voluntary phase-out of arsenic-treated wood. (Please note: A chart comparing some alternative wood preservatives is only available in the hard copy version.)
